Winter Cottage Getaway in March

Wow! It is Wednesday March 26th, 2008. Yesterday in the Almaguin Highlands it started to snow in the afternoon and it continued to snow until early morning today.

We really did think that winter was over. The ski hills are still open at Hidden Valley in Muskoka, the snowtubing hill is still open at Rockridge in Hunstville and the snowmobile trails are still going strong.

We hit the snowmobile trails a few days ago and we were amazed that the snowmobile trails are still exceptional. This is the best March that we can remember since we moved here almost 8 years ago.

You can still get away this weekend and check out the beautiful scenery of the north.

Get out and do some Ice Skating, cross country skiing and snowshoeing.

I went out early morning and took some pictures. Looking out over Perry Lake in Ontario today was just beautiful. You can just come up north and do nothing but look around at the beauty that surrounds you and that is a holiday in itself.

We own a Cottage Resort Sand Lake Cottages & Inn and we have noticed that because we keep getting snow most people are not in the mood to go away for a vacation.

This is the best time of the year to go north of Toronto near Muskoka and Algonquin Park and enjoy a Romantic Getaway, Family Getaway or a Fun Getaway.
